One of my New Year's Resolutions (yeah, I make them) is going to be to do one creative thing each day, and post it. It can be fanart, fanfic, freewriting original, whatever. Just. Something. You know what generally helps with that kind of thing?

EDIT: merfilly pointed out three communities of interest: dailyprompt (for, obviously, daily prompts), muse_prompts, and parthenon (which is a tabled community and one I'm going to definitely be looking into!).

| Christmas with My Friends |

I need to call Sara -- normally she starts calling my mother as soon as she thinks I'm home, but now the home phone is gone*, and I don't think she has my cell.
Anyway, last night I had my Christmas celebration at ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) yuuo and kuchehexe's place, with mirisa_ardruna and her son. I got a Mars book (with red pen so I could add in new stuff) from Jen and Zanne, and a pair of fingerless gloves (my hands and feet get cold easily, even inside) from Kim. Jen and Zanne made dinner, so that was also nice -- we had bratwurst, sauerkraut and potatoes, with Kim's cookies and my fudge for dessert. We were going to watch a movie, but dinner ran late, so we just ended up hanging out.
I <3 my friends, by the way.
More writing today -- foolishly I agreed to pinch-hit for Yuletide, despite having defaulted on my primary claim. Mostly because the pinch-hit canon was shorter, and I had coincidentally re-read it recently, while my primary claim involved watching 20-some episodes of anime to make sure I had the voices right. I still have the idea, so I might do the primary claim as a New Year's Resolution.
(Plus, the pinch hit lets me do comedy, which is one of my favorite things to write.)
* Mom got rid of the landline once Ben graduated high school. She and Ben both have cell phones, and she was already using her cell for long-distance calls instead of paying for long-distance on the house phone. More and more it seems like that's the new trend. |

Bought a big stack of brand new comics 5 minutes ago :D 2 belong to Kef, but the rest are mine. My collection feels empty after no longer being able to add 10 new issues to it every other week. Fuck you, DC. You and your R.I.P 'canon' SL and generally your shitty writers of all things.
Can't wait for Arkham 2 to come out. Whenever it's coming out. I signed up for updates; apparently it's down, though. Anyone else have problems with signing up?
Printed comics today to laminate at home. I was pissed last night because CDB was down, again, so I couldn't continue cataloging. I didn't catalogue here because I was busy printing.
Watched Kef play more of Dragon Age, jolly good fun. Stupid thief. Mages > thieves. >)
Watched Star Trek 09 movie, and watching the Transformers sequel tonight. Remembered that the Half-Blood Prince is out, so I need to get my hands on that one too.

I am completely and utterly jealous of everyone who got snow. All we got was rain, rain, and more rain. :|
Also, I don't really have any 'meh' icons. I mean, the Spock icon is way too sad. As is the Laguna/Raine one. Wall-E is too contemplative. Zuko/Mai is kind of disappointed/angry, but definitely not 'MEH' worthy. I have 48 more icon slots though, so I think I'm going to have to go icon hunting!
...yeah, I couldn't decide what icon to use for this post. XD

So I broke 1,000 words in my Yuletide fic. \o/ This pleases me greatly! I have (most of) a beginning and (most of) an end - all I need is a middle. THE HARD PART. :|
I was weak and bought paid time on DW. Heeeeey, it expired and my icons went back to 15. I WAS SAD. :(
It is officially the 19th! Which means Christmas isn't far away. Which means January isn't far away. AND THEN THE HOLIDAY SEASON WILL BE BEHIND US. :D
I can't complain though, since I actually kind of like Christmas. I mean, not for all that sentimental crap, but because I get presents and presents fill me with glee. I AM THE REASON CHRISTMAS LOST IT'S TRUE ~MEANING~. XD
I'm borrowing Crisis Core from someone. I have been told I will cry. I ALREADY KNEW THAT OKAY. :(

Started a new game of Arkham Asylum the other day and finished it last night. It will be another big disappointment if the sequel's ending is just as cliche/tacky. The cameo of Sionis, The Iceberg Lounge (yet again) plus others is certainly promising :D :D :D
I for one, am NOT looking forward to the possibiity of Nightwing or a Robin being incorporated into the franchise. Robin by name was good enough for #1. I don't want to see or hear a Robin. Nightwing on the other hand, is worse. Whiny little bitch that he is =/
Weekend! Comics and Photoshop and movie marathons. Watching Kef continue his game of Dragon's Age; I haven't continued my own save because the story so far is nearly exactly the same, so it's like watching Kef's play through as a rerun.
The cyclone has disappeared. :D It's headed well into WA over near Perth. It went up to a category 5, but bumped back down again to a category 4. It's nearly Christmas, and I'm hoping another one won't arise over this next week.
Been thinking about PS CS4 (or CS5 when it comes out), and weighing the pros and cons of getting a Windows version for my laptop at home, or getting a Mac version to use on Kef's Mac. I might get a... Mac, because I'll do more at his place than at home, and Elements has 99% of what CS has to offer, save for channels, mask, the nifty pen tool, and some other 'tiny' things that I so desperately want. I am not buying two $500 CS4s just because I use PS on Macs and PCs.
I posted some more shit into Arcanum, fixed up some of the older entries with updated!updates, yadda yadda. Updated Mikado's test layout too, Chaos, so that's another zillionth thing you need to take a look at.
IAB is quiet at the moment for me; waiting up on Lethe to get back with musing and whatnot after exams is over. My christmas 'break' won't make any difference to me; every day is the same :D Comics, PS, typing shit. And scanning, too! I still haven't finished printing and laminating my golden age issues. I need to get back to doing that so maybe I'll be done by New Year.

Last Wednesday I caught a purse-snatcher who stole meowvatar's purse (30 points). In September I bought porn for ledgerjokersues (10 points). In April I helped kaijou_jaguclaw hide a body (-173 points). In November I signed my organ donor card (28 points). In July I punched egyptianchaos in the arm (-10 points).
Overall, I've been naughty (-115 points). For Christmas I deserve a moldy sandwich!

So, travel wasn't that bad. I got about 2 hours of sleep on Tuesday, but I can never sleep well before a flight.
I got to the airport at 5:15, when my flight was due to leave at 6. Yes, I know the 'hour before you leave' rule, but the Ithaca airport is seriously small -- plus, the taxi was late. I got through security about the time the plane should have boarded, but I know better than to expect any 'first flight' from Ithaca to take off on time, especially in the winter.

Been watching the Arkham Aslum 2 trailer for a while now, and I've got to say this: FUCKING EPIC.
We've all died and gone to heaven. At least, I know I have. :DDDDDDD
Harley and Joker are back, along with the other villains! Hopefully Ivy, Scarecrow, etc are included, but I wouldn't care if Croc wasn't brought back, or Bane for that matter.
Titan looks like it's still the main plotdevice. =| Uhhuh. Like it was an original, good idea to begin with, WB/Rocksteady.
The trailer. is. fucking epic. I love it so hard. The game is going to be breathtakingly awesome and milkshakes.
Biased here; it would be win if man-bat was introduced, along with Black Mask, etc.
God damn it. D= Fighting off the urge for an Arkham game. Where's my Harley when I need one? Anna was the best one. D= No one can top her Harley. Fuck IJ's RP community. The half that's made of fandom hoppers and shady janes/joes.
So many great cameos/stuff in the trailer. The cosmetics warehouse is win. Still amusing that the ending sequence in Arkham 1 kind of contradicted what happened to the island in the storyline, but great that they've caught this plothole and .. well, moved Arkham Asylum.
